Super Mario Run will be available to download on Dec. 15 on iOS devices. You’ll be able to download it for free, but you won’t be getting the whole game that way. You’ll be able to “try elements of the game’s three modes,” but to unlock the whole game, it’ll cost you $9.99. That’s a higher price than most mobile games ask for, but it’s significantly cheaper than a full-fledged Mario title.
Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Doug Bowser (it’s a coincidence) said in a statement:
"The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices. Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time."
The game will run on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices that are running iOS 8.0 or later. There’s no word yet on an Android release.(Best wishes for Androiders)
